Veggies for a Great Eye-Sight

Eyes are the most important but at the same time the most neglected part of the body which is avoided until you face any problem. Kids today avoid veggies n choose junk food which indeed is not enough to save you from deficiency of any kind. Even the mother plays a vital role in kid’s good eyesight by giving them the daily need of vitamins through soups, juices and salads.

Here is the list of the most recommend food for good vision:


Carrots: Being not just bunny’s favorite it is our favorite and very easily available. Carrots are indeed packed with beta-carotene which gets converted into vitamin A after entering the body. Beta-carotene being a great anti-oxidant is known to fight number of cancer. It also helps in converting body fat into energy. Talking about the eyes beta –carotene helps in improving the surface lining of those beautiful eyes. When these linings are disturbed, it leads to infection by the bacteria’s entering through the lining. Carrots must be added to ones daily diet to have enough supply of vitamin A.

Garlic Sauteed Spinach

Spinach: I am strong at the finish, when I eat my spinach, I Popeye the sailor man! This is what even you would say after knowing the benefits of eating spinach. Spinach is power packed with carotenoids, lutein and zeaxathin. The yellow lutein protects macula from the harmful radiations from the sun as well as the blue light.


Roots: when I say roots it means onion, garlic, shallots. As they are packed with sulphur which naturally produces glutathione, which indeed is a very important anti-oxidant for the eye lens as well as the other parts of the body, definitely should be included in daily diet.


Eggs: Being high in sulphur it protects the eyes from being affected by cataract. Amino acid, cysteine, lecithin and lutein are also good for eye sight and are in available in good amount in eggs. Whether boiled or omelets that’s individuals choice.


Soy: being rich in proteins and low fat it’s a rage with vegetarians. It fights against inflammation with vitamin e, phytoestrogens and fatty acid.


Berries: Out of all the types of berries goji has come a long way, being mention in ancient Chinese times goji berries were said to improve eyesight, in new modern period studies show that patients who ate goji berries were treated better and the result was blind spots almost removed. The carotenoids in goji are believed to fight macular degeneration and cataracts.
